Fashion Dunhill Channels The Look Of The Duke Of Windsor For Fall 2011

Dunhill fall/winter 2011

There is a palpable change in menswear. In the past couple of seasons, men’s fashion has been moving away from the skinny silhouette towards a more traditional and classic shape. Tom Ford can be credited for this classic revival. Embracing the same idea of classic dressing is Dunhill whose fall/winter 2011 collection is all about men’s suiting, tailored shirts and tuxedos that recall the styles of the Duke of Windsor, Cary Grant and Gary Cooper. This is quite timely as Madonna is set to release her directorial debut, the biopic WE, based on the life of Wallis Simpson and Edward, Duchess and Duke of Windsor.

This return to classic form says goodbye to skinny ties, suits with skinny lapels and hip-hugging trousers. In its place are shapes that are more generous and dare I say it, masculine.
